If you are a fan of golf then you may wish to try North Cyprus as a golfing holiday destination.  Recent years have seen an uplift in the sport here, although there has always been a presence of the golfing fraternity with the CMC (Cyprus Mediterranean Coast) Golf Club since 1926, located in the Lefke area, on the coast to the west of North Cyprus.  This is a 9 hole, 18 tee course and is a very popular course for those looking for a traditional venue to play their sport.  The official North Cyprus Golf Federation was also founded in 2002 and makes contributions for the ongoing success of the sport and its community.

The real gem for golf in North Cyprus however is the Korineum Golf & Beach Resort, located in Esentepe which opened its doors in April 2007 and has proven to be an exceptional venue, not just for golf, but also for its additional faciltiies and beach resort.  Here you can experience an 18 Hole international standard Golf Course, Par 72, set in the most wonderful scenery, with mountain and sea views from every hole.  A challenging course, it is however suitable for people of all ages and skill levels and keeps people returning time and time again.

The club provides top notch facilities with buggies and a Pro Shop stocked with all the latest accessories, which also hires all the equipment golfers may need to enjoy their round of golf.  Along with this is the Academy where you can use their 300m driving range, putting and chipping greens and take instruction, should you wish.

Besides the golf of course, there are many other touches to Korineum which make it a place you may like to spend your day, with communal pool, various eateries such as the Clubbers Lounge, Valley & Carob Restaurants, or the Loggerhead Sports Bar.  Here you can choose from full dining options, or light lunches and snacks with a drink.  The Korineum also has its own tennis courts and private 70 metre beach with pier, private changing cabins, toilets and outdoor showers.
